TEAM CLEANS UP IN AWARDS
Accolade for toilets
A motorway service station in Telford is flushed with success after scooping an award for its toilets.
The loos at the Welcome Break facility off junction four of the M54 were praised by inspectors.
The officials from the Loo of the Year Awards 2006 gave the toilets a five-star rating.
The awards are aimed at highlighting standards of toilet facilities away from people's homes across the UK.
The awards were made after the inspectors made unannounced visits to more than 1,100 sites over four months.
All of the toilets were graded from one star to the maximum five-star award, with unacceptable toilets not graded at all. Awards director Richard Chisnell said the toilets deserved their five-star award.
Jeff McNamara, the service station's site director, said: "I am delighted with the award.
"The staff here work hard to ensure the toilets are in first-class condition at all times and it is great their efforts have been rewarded.
"Our toilets are open to the public 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, so it really does take a team effort to maintain such high standards at all times."
