LOO OF THE YEAR AWARDS

To many motorists it would not be uncommon to be relieved of a few pounds at a motorway service station - but when it comes to spending just a penny, Warwick is the best place to do it.

The service station on the M40 between junctions 12 and 13 has had the quality of its toilets acclaimed and won two prizes at the Loo of the Year Awards 2006.

The Welcome Break site has been given a five-star rating by inspectors for its northbound site and a four-star rating heading south.

Station director, Adam Gregory said:  I am delighted with the awards.  The staff here work hard to ensure that the toilets are in first-class condition at all times and it is great that their efforts have been rewarded.  Our toilets are open to the public 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, so it really does take a team effort to maintain such high standards at all times."

The Loo of the Year Awards are aimed at highlighting standards of away from home toilets all over the UK.  Authorised inspectors made unannounced visits to more than 1,100 sites during a four-month period.
