WH SMITH IN MOTORWAY DEAL

WH Smith, the newspapers, books and stationery retailer, has struck a deal to open travel stores in all 33 of Welcome Break's UK motorway service areas.

The franchise agreement follows the successful trial of a WH Smith Travel store at the Welcome Break service area on the M1 at Newport Pagnell.

The new units will enhance WH Smith Travel's existing network, which comprises 259 units in key air, rail and motorway locations.  Welcome Break is owned by Investcorp.
