WELCOME BREAK CREATES 60 JOBS AT CARDIFF GATE M4 SERVICE AREA

A £650,000 investment by motorway services operator Welcome Break is creating 60 full and part-time jobs at Cardiff Gate International Business Park on the M4.

The company, which has 24 sites across the UK and one at Eurotunnel, opens Burger King and WH Smith outlets on July 21, with an Eat In restaurant incorporating Coffee Primo and Game Zone amusement area, following on August 2.

The new site will have daytime and overnight car and lorry parking facilities, as well as full washroom conveniences.

Rod McKie, chief executive of Welcome Break, said, "We are looking forward to opening our new service area at Cardiff Gate and expanding our operations in Wales.

"The site is strategically placed along the busy M4 corridor and we are confident it will follow the success of our outlet at Sarn Park at junction 36 near Bridgend.

Tony Fletcher, managing director of Cardiff Gate International Business Park, said, "We are delighted to have Welcome Break set up their second Welsh base.  The facilities offered by the operator include a host of household names and will be hugely convenient for the thousands of passing vehicles and indeed the 4,000 staff that work at the business park."
