Celebrate your love of the Great British Sandwich!

Date Posted: 16-05-2017

We Brits love our sarnies. There’s nothing that defines Britishness more than grabbing a sandwich to keep us all on the move. It is, by far, our favourite ‘on-the-go’ meal. In fact, we buy over 3-and-a-half billion and eat double that number each year! The sandwich is the staple diet of Britain and it’s a very big deal for the hundreds of thousands employed to keep us all supplied with our butties, baps, baguettes and wraps.

We’ve come a long way from the days of just ‘cheese & pickle on white’, so it’s fitting now to enjoy The Great British Sandwich Week (14th-20th May) where you’ll be spoiled for a choice of ways to ‘grab a sarnie’ at Welcome Break:

Waitrose offers a range of healthy options, modern choices and classic favourites!

Eat fresh at Subway and enjoy a sub your way!

If you’re at South Mimms, head to Pret for a choice of freshly-made sandwiches and baguettes!

And with Starbucks, WHSmith and Deli2go, we’ll keep you in sandwiches 24/7, 365 days a year at every Welcome Break location!

Tell us your favourite!

To celebrate Great British Sandwich Week, why not tell us what your favourite sandwich is by tweeting us @welcomebreak? We’ll enter you into a draw to win £25 of vouchers to spend at Welcome Break

We hope to see you at Welcome Break this week and don’t forget, tweet us an image of you enjoying a sarnie on your next visit @welcomebreak. If we retweet it, you’ll win a £5 voucher!
