The redevelopment of Welcome Breaks Sarn Park Services (M4 junction 36) has won a silver Considerate Constructors Scheme (CCS) award for the company responsible for the work undertaken on the £6.5 million project.
Galliford Try South West & South Wales undertook the redevelopment project at the motorway site in Bridgend, South Wales.
It was the first major redevelopment of the services since opening in 1986 and resulted in a new Starbucks Café, Starbucks Drive-Thru plus a refurbished Burger King and WH Smith.
The award was presented to Malcolm Sainsbury from Galliford Try.
Welcome Breaks Finance Director, Nick Wright, said: “This award adds to the continuing success the Sarn redevelopment has been for Welcome Break.”
“We traded above expectations as soon as the new facilities were re-opened and it is a credit to Malcolm and his team that the quality and functionality of the building has added great value to our estate and our investment in the local community.”
Welcome Break Chief Executive Officer Rod McKie added: “The investment in Sarn Park highlights our commitment to the region.”
